What have you done or plan to do to socially transition? (i.e. pronouns, name, coming out, etc.)
Sooo, funny(?) story: I came out to my parents as asexual and they didn’t believe me and did the classic “You just haven’t met the right one” speal, then this year I told them when I grow up I want to be Hobbit and they were like “Yeah, sure, okay” and I kinda just threw my hands up in frustration. One thing I noticed about Bilbo Baggins and Frodo Baggins was they go off on grand adventures and become great heroes and they don’t get the girl. Tolkien said he couldn’t write good female characters (which I’m calling bullshit on. All the Tolkien universe ladies are awesome.) so Frodo and Bilbo don’t have any leading ladies waiting for them when they get home. My long term plan is to build a Hobbit house where I will live BY MYSELF like the nutter that I am. Not even cats are allowed at this point. I’m currently building an outfit that’ll be reminiscent of the hobbit style. It’ll be like steampunk only with Hobbits. I think my nerd is showing. Oh, well.
The sad thing is that everyone is perfectly accepting of my hobbit plan but completely unwilling to accept agender as an option.
So the short answer is “No, I’m going to come out as a hobbit instead.”
